Volunteering & Internships
Apply to join us
Join our field teams, baseline surveys and gardening schemes. We host environmental students on structured internships at universities we work with, and open volunteering placements to local people on our conservation projects.
University campus ecology intern
Environmental students contribute to ecological baseline surveys and ecologically informed gardening on their own campus — structured 8–12 week placements, with supervision by our consultant ecologists.
Field survey intern (UK / UAE / KSA)
Shadow our field ecologists on bat, bird, reptile and mammal surveys across live consultancy projects. Includes CIEEM-aligned training hours.
Conservation research intern (remote)
Literature reviews, CHSA support and ecological report writing — delivered remotely, suitable for MSc / PhD candidates worldwide.
Chalk grassland work parties
Monthly volunteer days on the South Downs and Wessex — scrub clearance, seed collection, orchid monitoring. All equipment provided.
Urban sparrow & hoopoe nest box programme
Help install and monitor nest boxes on streets, schools and estates in the UK, UAE and KSA.
Local Opportunities scheme
Local food, honey and chicken-egg production on brownfield and derelict land, combined with habitat enhancement — we're always looking for volunteer site leads.
