Donate — Peatland Restoration

Degraded UK peatlands are net emitters of carbon; restored, they become vast carbon stores and home to curlew, dunlin and large heath butterfly.

Peatland Restoration

We fund grip-blocking, sphagnum re-establishment and hydrological monitoring across Pennine and Welsh peatlands. Every pound helps re-wet another patch of bog.

  • £10 funds sphagnum plugs for 10 m²
  • £50 funds one grip-blocking team-day
  • £100 funds a month of hydrological telemetry

How your donation is used. Donations go to the cause you designated — but exactly what they pay for depends on what this project needs at the time. For example, £15 here could cover a DBS check, a bag of bird seed, fuel money for a volunteer, or a short research lit-review — whichever the project needs most in the month you give. Your gift always stays within the cause you chose; what it buys inside that cause is decided by on-the-ground need. This principle applies to every section and sub-section of our charity, Nature for People and People for Nature.
